Todays Prompt: DAY 29 - Rest
It is tempting as a provider to think that you need to provide solutions to the client or loved ones problems.
In Motivational Interviewing we come at this from the opposite angle
Our job is to provide a quality conversation.
It's the class job to come up with a solution to their problem.
Give it a Try
Let yourself rest today
See if you can just let yourself enjoy your relationship with a loved one
You don’t have to do anything.

Can you help me picture this beautiful scene with your son
As it I was watching it in a movie?
Comments from yesterdays prompt: “Clients or Loved Ones”
Calling clients "loved ones" sounds so beautiful. It made me realize how sometimes I refer to some clients/people as "challenging," but that doesn’t help me be fully present in the conversation. Instead, thinking of them as "a loved one who is facing their own struggles" feels much more compassionate and grounding. - Fatm

Sky, I want to wish you and all the dads you bring together in this wonderful community a very Happy Father’s Day.
Your children are lucky beyond words to have fathers like you—someone who listens with love, speaks with respect, and guides with compassion.
Practicing MI is about building trust, honoring autonomy, and helping others feel heard—no matter how small their voice may be. What a gift that is for a child.
You guys show up in a way that says, “You matter. Your voice matters.” And that may be one of the most powerful legacies a father can offer.
Wishing all the dads a day filled with the same love, care and compassion you so generously give.
As a mother, I care deeply about both my kids’ physical and mental health. To me, this is the solid foundation they can build upon throughout their lives, and I truly believe it will benefit them in the long run. Getting good rest plays an important role in recovering and maintaining both physical and mental well-being.
Both of my kids are night owls, and it’s not easy for me to watch them stay up so late. But when I saw today’s topic, I decided to give myself a break—a full day of rest—without worrying so much about their basic needs. They’ll be fine.
As soon as I shifted my mindset, my productivity increased, and I was able to enjoy more quality rest for the remainder of the day. It’s a win-win.
