In response to yesterday’s post, Day 50: Should We Take a Break? Marcus Blankenship asked me a beautiful open-ended question.
“Sky, what have you learned from writing each day?”
Wow! How lovely to be asked. And how nice to take a moment and reflect on it.
One of the things I've learned is how much I like writing!
Another is that learning MI, like doing MI, is a process. And staying in the flow of it all seems to be helpful
Another thing that I'm learning from the quick poll results: Is how many people are being affected by what I write, and I had no idea.
Over 70 people responded to the poll, and 35 took the time to make a comment, and the comments especially have warmed my heart. Here are three of them:
I came out strong in terms of interacting on Substack, but fizzled fast :) However, I love the frequent posts. I have saved many of them to return to and chew on some more. I put "every day" as my preferred option, but it might be too much for you. So I'd defer to whatever frequency feels right for you.
I have loved reading these and passing them along to my staff, who have also loved them! They really loved the one about hidden advice in open-ended questions.
I vote every day because the daily promo helps me build a habit of thinking, trying, reflecting, and learning. I value these learning opportunities by saving all the words in Google Drive so I can review them later. I’ve also told myself to keep writing daily even after “Everyday MI” ends. Thank you, Sky, for offering such a great learning opportunity to your students.
In terms of results, so far the M-W-F option has the most votes, with lots of support for me taking care of myself in it all. If you want to weigh in, it’s not too late: https://forms.gle/XDJtxs2WUrPxeT8X8
MI Thought for the Day
Be a relief.
Give it a Try
Let your words to someone today be a relief for them.
No technique needed. Just the attitude/spirit of compassion for their burden.
And thank you for being here.
Sky
PS - And here’s the wierd thing, knowing that I can cut back to every other day, somehow makes me want to write more! Go figure.

I too have saved many of these posts to return to and "chew on" some more. I've been thinking about how these specifically apply to the clients I serve and what a huge differences these seemingly small nuances make in the conversations, direction, and relationship over all.
Wow everyone, just wow! I am amazed at how many people are really into this. You do not ever really know until you hear back about what is going well and what is working for people. 70 people. Wonderful! I really love the way each and everyone is utilizing this space. It seems like we are all involved on one level or another. I opted for every day; yet I fully understand and respect Sky and his love of writing and also his need for freedom to create these beautiful posts; so I am very happy with continuing this challenge in all forms! Thank you Sky again and everyone! This is a remarkable place to be free and stretch out!
